Large scale paper mache over chicken wire did the trick.
I could put the head slightly to the side, so that I could see while skiing.
Lots and lots and lots of sewing! We scrounged stretchy material from thrift stores and created a long 'tail' with slits cut every 10 feet for each skiers head.
Poor Mari in the rear...whiplash-city around the hills and turns of the course!
Sonya out front as our 'spark/fire'. Those of us in the front and back of the train had whistles to signal stops, turns, or any unexpected moves down the chain.
